The Department of Basic Sciences comprises Chemistry. Mathematics and Physics. All the Engineering disciplines have extensive application of these subjects. Chemistry is a foundation course for Chemical, Metallurgical and Industrial Engineering. Physics and Mathematics plays vital role in all Engineering Disciplines in general and Electronics in particular. For Physics and Chemistry practical facilities are adequately available and the students, besides Physics, are trained in the practice of Organic, Inorganic, Physical, Analytical and process Chemistry.

Mathematics which is the mother of all Sciences and the foundation for computers and Information Technology Systems is taught both at the first Year and Senior levels. This department offers courses in the subjects of English, Pakistan studies and Islamiat. The purpose of teaching these subjects in an engineering College is to inculcate into the rising generation a sense of duty and loyalty to their country Pakistan and religion Islam. They also enrich the student's vocabulary and knowledge of general English etc.
