INDUSTRIAL TOUR/TRAINING

To provide the opportunity of practical knowledge of the various Industrial establishments of the country, the college arranges upcountry Industrial Tours in the third year for all departments. Also field trips & local study tours are arranged according to the requirement of subjects.

LIBRARY

The college has an air-conditioned central library on first floor and a book bank and lending library on fourth floor in the main building. It stocks books and monographs on all subjects forming part of the college curriculum including multiple copies of text books and current journals. Separate library facility exists at the department of Architecture at Iqbal Campus.

The central library has at present about 40,000 books on its shelves, which may be borrowed by the students. The college has a book bank that lends textbooks to students for one full term.

Additionally teaching departments have their own seminar libraries and audio visual facilities.

The following services are provided for the members:

1. Reference Library

The students are allowed only one book at a time from reference library and if the student intends to take the book with him for over night same procedure is adopted for periodicals.

2. Lending Library

Student can borrow one book on one card for maximum 15 days.

3. Book Bank

Students after opening account in book bank can get 03 books at a time at the payment of 10% of the prices of the books for a period of one year.

4. Photocopying Facility

The library provides photocopy facilities against a payment of Rs. 1/- per page to the student for a limited number of pages particular extract from the books available in reference library.

5. Other Facilities

The members/students of DCET library are eligible for the memebership of other city library e.g. British Council, American Centre, Khana-e-Farang etc. Inter library loan services are also available for themembers.

COLLEGE TRANSPORT

Seven new Hino Buses are available for Pick & Drop facility at main roots of Karachi for D.C.E.T. Students.

SCHOLARSHIP

A limited No. of scholarships is offered by the INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS PAKISTAN SAUDI ARABIAN CENTRE and Kaneez Fatima Welfare Foundation, Rawalpindi . Also college awards merit scholarships to 03 position holder students following announcement of yearly results.
